Few people can imagine the real scope of corruption and how it devastates this country’s economy. We always hear about millions and billions of crowns. But how big is the impact of corruption on our lives? Regrettably, it is enormous. Month in month out, corrupt elements steal about 1,000 crowns from the pocket of every citizen of the Czech Republic, children included!

In totalitarian years, bold people fought against the regime. But cowards and utilitarian souls were prone to reporting on opponents of the system. A coward would rather silently tolerate corruption and wish to hear nothing at all. A greedy coward also wants to feather his nest and becomes a corrupt element—thief and social parasite.

Nowadays, a courageous citizen stands in opposition against corruption even at the risk of wrecking his existence. A very bold citizen tries to gather evidence so his endeavour is not frustrated. (when your neighbour’s flat is burglarized and you suspect the cop on the phone of collusion with the burglars, will you have the courage to videotape the thief and obtain direct evidence?)
