Case of ČEZ
The Anticorruption Endowment blew the whistle on a suspect investment in the modernization of Prunéřov Thermal Power Station. Contracts have been signed although there is not enough coal in the Czech Republic to sustain its operation. The ČEZ investment will be significantly loss-making.
The Anticorruption Endowment has also set its eyes on the suspect sale of half of the ČEZ stakes in German coal firm Mibrag to a second co-owner, the EPH Holding. The stakes were sold way back in 2011, in a transaction that led to the loss of between 2.5 and 2.7 billion CZK.
