Utajovaná blesková reorganizace policie

The Anticorruption Endowment (NFPK) used findings obtained by this organization to process, and release on this date, a study examining the blitz-like action to revamp the Police of the Czech Republic. The study shall be available to the broad public.

The process of reorganization of the various police units, commenced on 1 August 2016, is marked by a plethora of dubious circumstances. The chain of events started with timing, since the document, Strategy of the Police of the Czech Republic, presented as recently as in May 2016, anticipated the preservation of both units (namely the Unit for Combating Organized Crime and the Unit for Detection of Corruption and Financial Crime. Here we deal with absolutely dismal, mutually contradictory approaches to communication with the heads of the above-said units, also concerning public prosecutors and experts in this field. At the same time and in all likelihood, information leaks from the investigation process will be leaked and threaten to frustrate the course of investigations.

The document, as presented on this day, precisely dwells upon the above-mentioned suspicions. It also notes that when assuming his official duties the Police President presented a strategy dismissing plans for a sweeping overhaul of the police force. In addition, the document echoes the views of selected experts and brings a timetable of the reorganization effort. The Anticorruption Endowment is a fully independent initiative by people radically unprepared to accept a high level of corruption in state administration. One of our goals is to help expose corruption in state administration and support projects exposing corruption.
